My 1993 Presentation Gold Cup

This is my 1993 Colt Presentation Gold Cup MK IV Series 80 National Match in .45 ACP. The twelve photographs below show this particular pistol from both sides, with closer views of its finish and identifying details. It is a different gun from the earlier pistol in my 1962 Gold Cup photo gallery.

I bought this Presentation Gold Cup at auction in 2019. The purchase story and a Colt Archive Letter excerpt are on my 1993 Presentation Gold Cup page. Here, the photographs give you a closer look at the pistol itself, including details that are easy to miss in a single overall view.

The Mirror Bright Blue finish is difficult to photograph because the polished surfaces reflect the room around them. Compare the right-side desk photographs with the later cabinet views to see how much the appearance changes with the angle and light. The jeweled barrel hood, hammer, and wide target trigger stand out against the blue steel, while the wood stocks carry Colt medallions.

Photo 8 gives a close view of the Gold Cup National Match marking and trophy emblem on the right side. Photo 9 shows the Series 80 and Colt MK IV markings on the left. Open either photograph to examine those details, then use the arrows to compare the other views. For the history of the model beyond this example, see my Colt Gold Cup collector guide.
